Background: Appendicitis is one of the most common abdominal surgical cases, with its incidence increasing each year. Post-appendectomy patients often continue to experience pain due to inflammation and surgical trauma. Although Sub-Arachnoid Block (SAB) anesthesia is effective during surgery, postoperative pain frequently persists. Early mobilization is an essential nursing intervention to help reduce pain and accelerate patient recovery. Objective: To analyze the effect of early mobilization on pain levels among post-appendectomy patients under SAB anesthesia. Methodology: This study employed a quasi-experimental pre-post test with a control group design, conducted from October to December 2024 in the Bougenville Ward of RSUD dr. Abdul Rivai, Berau Regency. The sample consisted of 30 post-appendectomy patients under SAB anesthesia, selected using purposive sampling, with 15 patients in the early mobilization group and 15 in the control group. Pain levels were measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests with a significance level of p < 0.05. Results: There was a significant difference between the early mobilization and rest groups in reducing postoperative pain (p-value = 0.037). Conclusion: Early mobilization is effective in reducing pain and promoting recovery in post-appendectomy patients under Sub-Arachnoid Block anesthesia. Recommendation: Early mobilization should be implemented as part of standard postoperative care for appendectomy patients. Future studies are recommended to examine long-term effects and psychological factors influencing pain perception.
